Ben tackling the last steep section of Tryfan Bach
The team on Bastow Buttress grade 2/3
I had a mixed weekend working on some AMI Trainee Workshops last weekend. The short roping day with Geoff and Ben was very constructive and we had perfect weather. In contrast, the improvised rescue with Geoff and Dave on the next day was a complete washout so we were very kindly allowed to use the Plas y Brenin facilities. We covered everything we needed to cover and more by using the anchors under the canopy in the morning and a load of hanging around in the teaching wall in the afternoon. The day was salvaged and Dave and Geoff went home happy and with loads to think about before their assessment.
A happy team after a busy weekend conducting climbing, abseiling and ropes course assessments. I was working down in West Sussex working for PGL. I had a fantastic welcome at Windmill Hill so a big thank you goes out to the senior team and staff who were super helpful, happy and enthusiastic throughout.
What a day! Rain, sleet and then snow to be rewarded with fantastic conditions and views to die for - we even had a broken specter thrown in as well. Conditions were wintry (as you can see from the photo of Nia) but didn't merit the use of crampons at any stage although we did need an ice axe for descending the zig zags. Even though it was cold it wasn't freezing that hard but the wind chill was high when the wind picked up on the summit of Carnedd Ugain. All in all a rewarding day.
